Many of you that know Mason knows that one of his favorite things to do is to go fishing especially with Dad. Monroe fixed his canoe and he were able to take it out a few times the summer and fall. We may have not always caught lots of fish but I was a lot of fun and we always seemed to get we.

Summer 4

The company that Monroe works for encana sponsored the Rocky Mountain PBS Fun Fest this year that was held in a large park in town. It was very well attended and the kids had a lot of fun even amidst the the hot day. Monroe being the generous guy he is volunteered to help out and he had the funnest job, he was Clifford's personal bouncer. The kids absolutely loved seeing day helping Clifford. They had a lot of booths form area businesses which gave out lots of fun prizes, And toward the end the Fire Department Brought on of their trucks and squirted the kids. And the best part was that it was all FREE, can't beat that.

A Brief Intermission!

My most handsome son Mason turned 5 yesterday and it was a really fun day even from the time we woke up. Snow, Snow, Snow, Snow, Snow! We started our day by making snow angles, a snow man, and having a snowball fight. What a way to begin a birthday.

I then had the privilege of attending Mason's preschool class. It was so nice to visit and see what happens in Mason's class and all I can say is that I so admire Mason's teachers. What a job to keep 3-5 year old focused and willing to learn, a job that would be a extreme struggle for me. I truly don't think that they get enough appreciation.

After school we meet Monroe at Boston's for Pizza and then we came home and opened presents (Mason's favorite part). He got his own Camelbak for when he goes Mountian Biking, a fun craft from Madelyn, and new Pop Rifle. All in all I would say it was a great and fun birthday. All I have to say is that I am exhausted, but I would have it any other way for my favorite boy in the whole wide world. Love you my BUD!

Summer 3

Whipple/Hurst Family Mini Reunion!
Over the weekend of the Forth of July my parents, sister and her family all spent a week in Idaho at my Grandparents house. We couldn't find another time to have a full on Whipple Family Reunion so we had it while we spent our week at my Grandparents house.
We went to Shoshone Fall and Cauldron Lind by Twin Falls Idaho. It was really fun and neat to see some of the beauties of Idaho. As you can see my sister was 8 1/2 months pregnant and having contractions so we spent our time at her constant aid it was exciting. Monroe was able to come for the Hurst Family Reunion but being the wonderful provider he is went home to work for the rest of the week.

We also had my mothers families reunion and it was a lot of fun. We started off with a wonderful breakfast followed by a Mountain/Road Bike ride. Never a bad time to ride! While some the family went on a dirt bike ride my sister Megan and I entertained the children with some really fun games that ended in a water fight a Hurst Family must. We all had a great time seeing family and spending time with my Grandparents.

Summer 2

Mason participated in T-Ball this spring. It was his first year and he did very well. He often got distracted or bored and would be seen with his baseball mitt on his head or doing a somersault into home plate. It was a good season and I am very proud of him for finishing out his season

Summer 1

So I thought I would do a quick recap of The Stocking Family Summer 2010. I will leave out a lot of fluff for sake of time.

1. My summer started out by a Girls Mt. Biking Trip to Moab in May. We arrived Friday morning and road Slick Rock Trail which proved to me a long cardo tiring day. It was a 12 mile loop that is all solid rock and nothing but steep ups and downs. It is hard to learn to trust the rock but amazingly your tires stick to the rock so you almost defy gravity.
We then got up the next day and rode the Whole Enchilada. I certainly underestimated this trail we rode around 20 miles of this trail which took us most of the day. What can I say we were a group of girls just out to enjoy our ride, some people can do this trail in 3 hours. This trail was quite the opposite of the day before trail, instead of being smooth solid rock it was choppy rocks and was really jarring. But we finished and It was a fun and satisfying day.

Mason's First MTB

My parents, my husband, and I got Mason a new (used) 20" Mountian Bike for an early birthday present. My friend sold us this bike which was nice because we have been looking for a good used bike for Mason all summer. It looks a little big for him but this is the smallest MTB they make and I knew it would just be a matter of time before he would be ready for this size. Mason takes after me and loves to ride bike especially in the mountians. It is fun to take him with me down some trails and from here the sky is the limit.

Belated Spring Update

As you all know I am about the worlds worst blogger and I am going to try to get caught up so bear with me:-) I admit I have been having to much fun.
February, March, and April was a very eventful early spring we helped my sister move to her new home in American Fork(which is very nice and big), help put on a baby shower for my good friend Teddy which was a wonderful success yeah for babies.
We celebrated Monroe's 34th birthday, and to finish it all off my sisters and mother and I had a girls weekend in UT which was a blast and so good to spend some time with just the girls. We don't have many opportunities anymore for just girl time.
As you can see we are all sitting on the floor at my sisters old house many hands made light work and the move went really well.
Monroe's Birthday was celebrated with just a little family party. The kids had fun making cards, helping wrap his presents (which was two pairs of shoes and safety glasses for work), and most of all blowing out the candles and eating the strawberry tart that is a must for everyone of Monroe's Birthday. Honey you are getting so old;-)!

This was our girls weekend we did some shopping, eating, sleeping, more eating, and more shopping. All the things that we love to do and the best thing it was all without kids. Thanks Grandpa and Dads for that and thanks girls for a wonderful weekend. It was great to get to know my sisters a little more again. Life seems to take over to fast to keep some relationships going that this was a good reminder that we really do have fun as a family.
I will leave you all with a pretty special picture of my beautiful little girl. Enjoy!

Happy Hoilday's (part 2)

, When we got back from Utah we immediately got into the Christmas Spirit. Mason is in a preschool program called Joy School where three other moms with children 3-4 years of age rotate weeks and teach two time a week. Mason enjoys it somewhat if it were no so much sitting and more running around it would be perfect for him. I keep him going for the fact that he needs to learn to sit and listen so he will be ready for school. I also love the Joy School program and the criculum that comes with it. There is hardley any time spent on ABC's or 123's, it just concentrates on the love of learning, manners, and morals. I know that reading and writing will come (it already has started). So after that long intro as part of his Joy School we had a Christmas Program and it was centered around the Nativity. Mason's part was Joesph and he was so cute (sorry you'll have to indulge me I think that he is about the cutest boy out there;-)

Here are is a short video:

We spent Christmas here. We were worried that santa wouldnt be able to find us in Idaho so we left for Monroe's Mom's place the day after. I was sure gald that we decided to stay because Christmas Eve Madelyn threw up and was not feeling well all day. Christmas day was good, we all were well and enjoyed our day playing with our new toys and eating lunch at our friends house. The next day however was miserable for me, the wonderful stomach flu found me. We still drove to Idaho and by the time we got there I was feeling better. All in all it was a fun Christmas and we are so blessed.

Happy Holiday's

Our hoilday's where wonderful and started in Utah at my sisters house with all of my family including my Grandparents. It was wonderful to see and spend time with everyone. Thanks for a great Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving dinner (yum)

Mason and Madelyn enjoying a story from thier Great Grandma Hurst.

Coloring activity thanks to Grandma and Grandpa.

While in Utah we enjoyed a stroll around temple square and looked at the beautiful lights. It was pretty cold but we survived and were uplifted by the beauty

Mason at this point was tired, cold and ready to go home, Maddy was still in good spirits.
