Many of you that know Mason knows that one of his favorite things to do is to go fishing especially with Dad. Monroe fixed his canoe and he were able to take it out a few times the summer and fall. We may have not always caught lots of fish but I was a lot of fun and we always seemed to get we.

Summer 4

The company that Monroe works for encana sponsored the Rocky Mountain PBS Fun Fest this year that was held in a large park in town. It was very well attended and the kids had a lot of fun even amidst the the hot day. Monroe being the generous guy he is volunteered to help out and he had the funnest job, he was Clifford's personal bouncer. The kids absolutely loved seeing day helping Clifford. They had a lot of booths form area businesses which gave out lots of fun prizes, And toward the end the Fire Department Brought on of their trucks and squirted the kids. And the best part was that it was all FREE, can't beat that.

A Brief Intermission!

My most handsome son Mason turned 5 yesterday and it was a really fun day even from the time we woke up. Snow, Snow, Snow, Snow, Snow! We started our day by making snow angles, a snow man, and having a snowball fight. What a way to begin a birthday.

I then had the privilege of attending Mason's preschool class. It was so nice to visit and see what happens in Mason's class and all I can say is that I so admire Mason's teachers. What a job to keep 3-5 year old focused and willing to learn, a job that would be a extreme struggle for me. I truly don't think that they get enough appreciation.

After school we meet Monroe at Boston's for Pizza and then we came home and opened presents (Mason's favorite part). He got his own Camelbak for when he goes Mountian Biking, a fun craft from Madelyn, and new Pop Rifle. All in all I would say it was a great and fun birthday. All I have to say is that I am exhausted, but I would have it any other way for my favorite boy in the whole wide world. Love you my BUD!

Summer 3

Whipple/Hurst Family Mini Reunion!
Over the weekend of the Forth of July my parents, sister and her family all spent a week in Idaho at my Grandparents house. We couldn't find another time to have a full on Whipple Family Reunion so we had it while we spent our week at my Grandparents house.
We went to Shoshone Fall and Cauldron Lind by Twin Falls Idaho. It was really fun and neat to see some of the beauties of Idaho. As you can see my sister was 8 1/2 months pregnant and having contractions so we spent our time at her constant aid it was exciting. Monroe was able to come for the Hurst Family Reunion but being the wonderful provider he is went home to work for the rest of the week.

We also had my mothers families reunion and it was a lot of fun. We started off with a wonderful breakfast followed by a Mountain/Road Bike ride. Never a bad time to ride! While some the family went on a dirt bike ride my sister Megan and I entertained the children with some really fun games that ended in a water fight a Hurst Family must. We all had a great time seeing family and spending time with my Grandparents.

Summer 2

Mason participated in T-Ball this spring. It was his first year and he did very well. He often got distracted or bored and would be seen with his baseball mitt on his head or doing a somersault into home plate. It was a good season and I am very proud of him for finishing out his season

Summer 1

So I thought I would do a quick recap of The Stocking Family Summer 2010. I will leave out a lot of fluff for sake of time.

1. My summer started out by a Girls Mt. Biking Trip to Moab in May. We arrived Friday morning and road Slick Rock Trail which proved to me a long cardo tiring day. It was a 12 mile loop that is all solid rock and nothing but steep ups and downs. It is hard to learn to trust the rock but amazingly your tires stick to the rock so you almost defy gravity.
We then got up the next day and rode the Whole Enchilada. I certainly underestimated this trail we rode around 20 miles of this trail which took us most of the day. What can I say we were a group of girls just out to enjoy our ride, some people can do this trail in 3 hours. This trail was quite the opposite of the day before trail, instead of being smooth solid rock it was choppy rocks and was really jarring. But we finished and It was a fun and satisfying day.
